Cloud Printer App Reviews

Nice work!

Instalation was easy; just follow the simple directions to create an "automator printer plug in", and youre done. I had no idea what automator did until now (fairly new to Mac), but after installing this, I created a few custom workflows of my own - very nicely done.

landscape?

Any way to get landscape mode? I have a doc in Word thats set up for landscape mode; no matter if I print it straight from Word or from Word print to PDF/Preview and then to Google Cloud Print, it only does portrait mode.

Works perfectly.

Once I got Chrome on the Mac to add the printer (I really never knew what the problem was, it just started working at some point), it prints. I’m having issues with the printer and Mac OS, but that’s not the fault of this app. Very handy.

Seamless cloud printing from desktop apps

Installed on MacBook Air running Mavericks - easy to set up and runs great!

It did exactly what it was supposed to do

I can’t say too much about it since it just printed the piece of paper that I wanted it to, but that’s pretty rare nowadays. Works great!

Works so far...

Hello all, Wanted to use Google Print from my Mac without switching to Google Chrome. My tech guy said I would have to migrate to Chrome to use Google Print. I did a quick search of the issue and found this app. Downloaded it to my Mac. Bada Boom Bada Bing… I open the app. As soon as I opened the app, there was a message from my IT guy asking if I wanted to share the printer at my remote office. I clicked yes. Opened Google docs, chose a document, hit print, up popped an option to use the remote printer…bam it worked. It actually worked! First try, no hassles. Wow. Apple should hire this guy; they seem to have forgetten how to write code that works...

Fantastic and highly productive app!

I have been using the Cloud Printer app for many months now and have really enjoyed how much easier it has allowed me to print remotely. I have added both classic and cloud-ready printers to Google Cloud Print and they have all worked flawlessly. I appreciate the increased functionality with the Automator plug-in that allows me to print directly from other programs on my computer. Recently, I ran into my first technical issue with the software. I’m not certain it if was my my computer or the app, but I emailed Somasundaram, the developer, and got a response that same day. He was helpful and friendly and my issue was resolved almost immediately! Kudos to the developer’s support! This newest version (2.0.2) has added some excellent new functionality for several settings that were severely lacking (I believe due to Google, not the app). Now, I have access to printer settings that I would normally have on a local printer, including printing multiple copies, duplex printing, orientation, color, and more. That $1 for the in-app purchase of these extra settings was well worth it to support the developer!

Worked….the first time!!

I found this app as a recommened on the Google Cloud Print site. I loaded it up, followed the simple Automator instructions and bam, it works. Amazing.

Refuses to install on 10.7.5 Core 2 Duo Macbook 2,1

By listed compatibility, this update should install on my machine, but the App Store refuses to install it. Previous version still installed, current update will not install, and will not hide itself as incompatible either… leaving an update listed as available all the time. Something is wrong with your listed compatibility.

Technically it works

It does not show up in system printers as a printer, like one would expect. Instead if you have create a goofy macro using Automator that basically prints to a pdf, then the app prints the pdf to cloud print. I would not expect my mom to be able to install this. I don’t understand why they can’t make it a virtual printer driver like on PC. I thought things were supposed to be easier on a MAC?

Excellent utility for Cloud Print everywhere

I’m using a bunch of Epson Printers all setup in Google Cloud Print (GCP). Of course there are other things on these printers like Epson Connect, but GCP is the only option for a Chromebook I also have in my collection, and I’ve been hoping GCP would work as a universal solution that would let me print anything from anywhere. E.g., I work design files at home, and would like to send these to a tabloid printer at the office. Cloud Printer installs an app that provides you with visibility into all of your Google Cloud Printers, and then allows you to download a script from the developer to setup a “virtual” device that the system can print to. By printing to this “Google-Cloud-Printer”, a job is processed and then sent to the Cloud Printer application. In the application, the job is then held and listed as the “active job” at the bottom of the application, and once you select a printer from the list of Google Cloud Printers, you click on the “submit job” button to send your job to that printer. So an extra hop beyond just printing to the target device, but this extra hop allows you to print from any application, e.g. Adobe Photoshop, and still send your job to any google cloud printer. Makes GCP much more useful, and if Google weren’t fixated on GCP being mostly about Chromebooks, I would have expected an application like this from them. Thanks Somasundaram!

Love the concept, not as many printer settings available

I print mass quantities of invoices everyday and I like to use the “economy” printer quality which uses half the ink. This app doesn’t allow this, it only gives you standard and best quality settings. I love the concept of this app, but this won’t work for me. I already spend a fortune on ink for my business. If this had comparible settings to what my printer settings offered, it could be 5 stars.
